Changes in class sequence

Monday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m., the beginner's class will begin the Hoppy Easter sign. Everyone has picked up their boards and patterns.

We will also begin the Hoppy Easter sign in the intermediate's class but on Monday, March 23rd, at 7:00 p.m. Peggy F. will be joining us for that class. Everyone has their board except Peggy F. Patterns are ready to be picked up whenever possible.

By doing the Hoppy Easter sign now, everyone will have it finished by Easter to enjoy. If you have special brushes that you use for drybrushing, please bring them with you.

As always, can't wait to paint! Looking forward to celebrating the resurrection!

Tips

Mistakes
When you've made a mistake, spit on your paper towel is the handiest tool to remove it quickly.

Floated Color
Use the largest brush possible for the job. I tell my students all the time and they can quote me, "The corner of the brush is the same size on every brush."

Liner Work
Thin lines require that you do several things.
1. Use a quality liner brush, in excellent condition.
2. The consistency of your paint should be the consistency of ink.
3. The brush should be full of paint.
4. As you paint lines, move slowly, not fast, and hold your brush handle straight up in a vertical position.
5. Often people can't see-they think they can, but they really don't know if the point of the brush is making contact with the surface or not. Using an OptiVISORs or surgical loops can be used right over glasses. They are massive magnifying glasses that really make it possible to see the point of the brush making contact with the surface.
